More than $45 million is available to Michigan’s public universities and public and tribal colleges through the Office of Sixty by 30 Student Success Grants. The requirements of the five competitive grant opportunities are complex and require significant planning on the part of applicants to develop successful proposals. Through the Elevated Readiness Program, the Office of Sixty by 30 is funding technical assistance to applying institutions at no charge by working with a number of supporting organizations. This technical assistance includes facilitation services for program planning, logic model and assessment design, coaching throughout the proposal writing process, and proposal writing and editing.
The Michigan Center for Adult College Success is partnered with the Michigan Association of State Universities and the Michigan College Access Network to assist public universities in Michigan.
The Elevated Readiness Program provides several types of services free of charge to Michigan public and tribal institutions applying for Sixty by 30 Student Success Grants.

Strategic coaching services are available to institutions at no charge, working with university leadership for a proscribed period. Coaches can provide a more in-depth and regular touchpoint for guidance on program planning and proposal writing that connects institutional strategic plans with Student Success Grant parameters. Coaches are familiar with promising practices in student success, serving as thought partners on implementation of change initiatives, and can share learnings from across the state and nation.
To assist universities with more detailed information on specific promising practices in student success, The Center can match subject matter experts in key areas with universities upon request. Some examples of assistance that subject matter experts can provide include informing campus working groups, facilitating a proposal writing workshop, or providing feedback on a planning document.
Institutions may work with The Center to be matched with a professional grant writer or editor to complete Sixty by 30 Student Success Grant proposals. Professional fees will be covered by the Elevated Readiness Program.
