At the Michigan Center for Adult College Success, our staff and governing council drive efforts to expand postsecondary achievement for adult learners. They share a belief that education transforms not only individuals but also families, communities, and Michigan’s economy.
The staff leads daily operations, conducts research, and coordinates programs. They ground each initiative in evidence and design strategies that respond to the realities of adult learners. Because their backgrounds span higher education, workforce, policy, and nonprofit leadership, they bring practical insight into the barriers students face. They also work closely with institutions to develop solutions that remove those barriers.
The governing council strengthens this work by adding perspective and accountability. Its members come from education, business, workforce, philanthropy, and government. With this broad mix, the council connects communities and institutions while providing clear strategic direction. Council members also help set priorities and align the Center’s efforts with Michigan’s statewide talent and economic goals.
Together, the staff and council form a powerful team. They elevate promising practices, share tools with colleges and universities, and support adoption of innovative models. In addition, they push for stronger policy that makes higher education more accessible for adults. Most importantly, they keep the focus on the student. They know that real success depends on addressing academic, financial, and personal needs at the same time.
Through collaboration and expertise, the staff and governing council of the Michigan Center for Adult College Success turn ideas into action. They work every day to help adults enroll in college, stay on track, and graduate. Their efforts open doors to opportunity and strengthen the state’s long-term prosperity.
